Angela Navarro headshotAngela Navarro currently serves as Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade under Governor Ralph Northam. In this role, she works on energy, housing, and economic development policies. Previously, she served as Deputy Secretary of Natural Resources under both Governor Northam and Governor McAuliffe where she focused on energy and clean air policies.

Prior to her appointments, Angela spent five years practicing law with the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC). While at SELC, she led the organization’s energy efficiency practice across a six-state southeastern region, and she was the organization’s lead attorney on energy matters in Virginia.

Angela holds degrees in business and English from the University of Florida and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Virginia State Bar Administrative Law Section, and she volunteers her time with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
