Shannon Kellogg

Shannon Kellogg is Director of Public Policy at Amazon, where he leads the company’s public policy efforts in support of the Amazon Web Services business in the Americas. In this role, he focuses on issues such as cloud computing, cybersecurity, government procurement and acquisition issues, and renewable energy policy.
Prior to joining Amazon in October 2012, Kellogg was Senior Director of Government Affairs for EMC Corporation, serving as the head of the company’s public policy office in Washington, D.C. During his nine-year tenure at EMC and RSA (the Security Division of EMC), Kellogg also served as Director of Information Security Policy and Director of Global Government and Industry Affairs.
An 18-year veteran of the IT industry, Kellogg previously had senior public policy roles at the Business Software Alliance and the Information Technology Association of America before joining RSA/EMC. Kellogg also was a founding member of the non-profit organization, the National Cyber Security Alliance, serving on the Alliance’s board from 2004 – 2011, including as Board Chairman and Treasurer. He currently serves a Board Member of the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation.
Kellogg received his master’s degree in international transactions from the George Mason University School of Public Policy.
