Governor Jay Inslee
The Honorable Jay Inslee was elected Governor of Washington in 2012 and reelected to a second term in 2016. Prior to being Governor, Inslee served for fifteen years in the U.S. House of Representatives and in the Washington House of Representatives.
A national thought leader on renewable energy policy, Governor Inslee has made clean energy innovation a hallmark of his Administration – implementing a Clean Air Act rule to cap carbon emissions, electrifying the state’s transportation system, and investing in renewable energy deployment, grid modernization and clean energy manufacturing. Inslee is the co-author of “Apollo’s Fire: Igniting America’s Clean Energy Economy” and co-founder of the bipartisan U.S. Climate Alliance, a coalition of 21 states committed to upholding the goals of the Paris Agreement.
